Chloe's First "Solid" Food

When Thomas was 4 months old he started showing all the signs of wanting to start solid foods. I didnt start him on any and then at 5 months he was waking during the night and was really trying to eat what we were eating and I was sure he was ready for solid foods. I called my pediatrician about it and told her everything but she said to wait! I could not wait for him to be 6 months old and I could give him solids. Chloe was totally opposite. She never seemed to care and I was contemplating not even starting solids until she was a little older than 6 months but the pediatrician said that she needs to go ahead and start learning how to use a spoon. It didnt take long for her to catch on and she is a great little eater!!

Here is a video of her first oatmeal mixed with breastmilk!! =)

Chloe 6 Month Post!!

Chloe is 6 months old!!! I cannot even believe it!! She was actually 6 months old on December 11, but because of Thomas' Birthday on December 17 and then Christmas stuff following a week later it has taken me a while to get to her blog post. I have not been as good about posting with her like I did with Thomas.  I posted with him every month! It is true when they say the 2nd child doesnt get as many pictures, etc as the first child. haha. Sorry Chloe!! Here are updated pictures on her page! I have kept up with monthly pictures!!

Lets talk about where she is! You can comapre to Thomas' 6 month post

Stats: ( I need to look them up....! )

Sleeping/Eating: She has started solids.  She was not as eager as Thomas was so we have taken it slow. She has started bananas with a little baby oatmeal mixed in to make it thick enough to eat. She has done well and seems to like it ok.

Clothing: Chloe is in 9-12 month clothes. 6 month clothes are definitely too small and I told everyone to buy her 12 month clothes for Christmas!! I cant believe it!! She is such a big girl.
Size 3 diapers!! =)

Talking/Smiling: She is smiling and babbling. She will say, "mama" and "dada" but doesn't correlate the words with us yet! =)

New Things: She is rolling around and uses this as a mode of transportation just liker her brother. She is sitting and starting to eat a little baby food! She is sitting and babbling. She is a tough little girl with her brother around. She smiles and laughs at him all the time!
Ready for a 6 month picture???
Such a little cutie patootie!!

Halloween 2013

We had our first "halloween" where the kids dressed up. We didn't do any "trick-or-treating" or anything but the kids dressed up and we went out for a walk and enjoyed a few minutes of being a lady bug and a fireman!

Here are some pictures!!

We had so much fun!! =)

New House!!

I mentioned in a previous post that we had begun the house hunting process.  Well, we finally found a house in the location we wanted and for the price we wanted!! I am so excited!! It is about 800 more sq ft than what we had before and it feels like a mansion to us! It is 5 bedrooms so the kids have their own rooms and we have a playroom and an office for Derek.

May this home be used to honor and glorify Christ. And to love, lead and disciple others in Christ.

We are so blessed to have found such a perfect home for our family!! =)

Chloe - Birth Story

On June 10, we spent the day between doctors offices and the hospital getting ready for my c-section. It was reassuring when I talked to all the nurses and found out more about what was going to happen.  After all the appointments we went back to my parents house and got Thomas and went to the park and enjoyed some time as a family just the three of us! When dinner time came around we went back to my parents house and had some pizza (my choice since it was my "last supper" before I was going to have about 24hrs of clear liquid diet). It was a fun time! I had a really hard time leaving Thomas at my parents house knowing when I saw him again he would not be the only child anymore and he would only be able to visit with me for about 4 days. But I did it and soon after Thomas went to bed Derek and I left my parents house and went home for a good night sleep before our big day!!

June 11 came, the day of the c-section!! I was excited and nervous and just soo ready to meet my baby girl!! We had to be at the hospital at 6am for a c-setion time of 8:30am. I was excited to have such an early surgery time! The IV they put in my hand hurt really bad and blood was spurting everywhere. It was awful! I think the nurse must have been new. Everyone kept telling my everything would be so easy so I was hopeful that it would. The IV was not a good start but I tried to stay upbeat. They rolled me back to the OR and I was praying that I would numb correctly (unlike with Thomas and they had to put me under).  The anesthesiologist came in and they started the spinal. It stung as they gave me the shot and that was suppose to be all I felt but then I felt her putting the spinal in and every move she made while putting the spinal in. I jumped once and the dr said, "Oh, maybe you need more numbing meds" ... "Umm...yes, maybe I do!" It was extremely painful. As she was leaving I heard some of the nurses talking about how she is new. Well, maybe that is why it hurt so bad!!

After all that craziness I was glad to see my OB's face behind the curtain! Familiarity! I was soo glad. I love my OB office and I love all the doctors I have seen there. They all know what they are doing and are all so very helpful. Soon Derek was there with me...another huge relief! I was so tense through the whole thing and would feel nausea coming on a few times but I told the nurses and they took care of it quickly! Praise the Lord for good nurses!! It was no time and my baby girls was here!! She had such chubby cheeks! That is the first thing we both said when we saw her.

They pulled her around and I was able to see her face for the first time. It was so precious!! They then rushed her off to get her cleaned and they sewed my up. That seemed like a very long process but it was reassuring to know that Derek was with our sweet baby girl. He got lots of good pictures for us from when they weighed, measured and cleaned her.

When rolled back to recovery I was so glad to see my girl and my man! Chloe was able to nurse right away and she from the first time was great at nursing (totally opposite of her brother). It didnt take long in recovery and we were off to our room. We were all right on time and by the time we got to the room for a few minutes we were ready for all the family to come see us and especially Thomas and my parents!! We missed Thomas soo much and were ready for him to meet his little sister!!

Overall, it was a good experience. We got our baby girl and she was healthy! Thats what really matters.

I am so thankful for my sweet family and love that my children both have their sweet birth stories!!

Update on Life

Man, oh man!! Life has just been going full blast and life with two kids is great but challenging and I feel like most days I have no time or an so exhausted that I sleep when they sleep. Sometimes I think I could work 24 hrs a day and still not get all of the house work and babies needs completed. Right now Derek is still working a full-time job along with his youth pastor job. =) We look forward to having more Daddy time.

here is the update by month:

May -

Our sweet Chloe Raine was born!! She is such a sweet baby and a great sleeper!! I have so much to catch up on with her!! Birth story, Month 1, and she is almost 2 months!!! Yikes!

The other thing that happened this month...my little brother got drafted by the Boston Red Sox!!! We are so incredibly proud of him as he starts his journey as a professional baseball player!!

July -

Around the 4th of July we had a some family pictures taken from Jenna Markiewicz

August -

We have started house hunting!!! It is a crazy time for us as we search for what could be our 1st house! It is a crazy market where we live right now and definitely a sellers market.  It is hard to find a house and not get outbid. Everyone is overpaying for houses and snatching them away!! Arg! Oh well, the Lord knows what is best for us and we will patiently wait for the right house!! =)

I have had c-section babies and why I am ok with it...

Chloe's birth was a c-section.  Her c-section was because of Thomas' Birth Story (Part 1) (Part 2) and his birth ending in a c-section after 18hrs of labor. After getting pregnant with Chloe we decided to go ahead and schedule a c-section for her instead of trying for a VBAC.  There were just too many risks with VBACs and for our family we decided it wasn't worth the risks. I sympathize with the women who struggle with c-section births! I will have all c-section births and never had a baby vaginally. In some ways it is hard for me as a woman and a mom to know all of my babies will be birthed by c-section but mostly I am simply grateful! Grateful that we have modern medicine that can allow me to have a c-section.  Thomas was not coming out, period. I pushed for hours, he was not coming. I knew a c-section was my best option with him, and the risks of a VBAC were not worth it. In the end I have 2 beautiful babies and other than having to wait approximately 18-24 months before another baby my doctors have told me I can have probably as many babies as I want by cesarian. Let me clarify though, I am not planning on giving Michelle Duggar (19 Kid and Counting) a run for her money or anything so, I am thinking we will be just fine with the number of children I can have by c-section.  The Lord is in complete control and knew that I would have c-section babies. Cesarian births is one thing many women struggle with and it shouldn't be! Your babies have a beautiful birth story just as if they were born vaginally. Your child in the grand scheme of life will never care how they came into the world.  It will matter how they are raised! So ladies, please...please...please...focus on raising your children and don't focus on the way they came into this world! =) Show them Christ and raise them to be godly children that is what will matter in the end. My next post will be my baby's beautiful birth story!

38 Weeks

Wow!! What a long time since I have posted. Derek is now officially done with school.  I will do a graduation post soon!! Now that Derek is done I have more time with the computer!! yay!! =) Hopefully I will be able to keep everyone up to date with our sweet baby girl when she is born.

I dont think I ever officially announced on here that we are having a baby girl but we found out in January and I have had to have a few other ultrasounds since then so confirm that she is a girl. lol. I asked every time we went in!! =)

Her name will be Chloe Raine George! Thomas ended up being a c-section baby so we have a schedule c-section for Chloe on June 11!! 1 week from today!! =)

Maternity Clothes: Yes!! =) I have a few summer maxi dresses that still fit and are non maternity and I can still wear my gym shorts and Medium t-shirts (non maternity)

Gender: Baby Girl!! Chloe Raine!!

Movement: Chloe has moved sooo much more than Thomas ever did!

What I Miss: ENERGY! And no sickness.  I have been sick for 9 months with this one. Pay back for having such an awesome pregnancy with Thomas I guess.

Sleep: Well, Chloe hasnt been keeping me from sleeping but we have moved Thomas to a toddler bed so I am constantly waking to make sure he hasnt fallen out.

Cravings: More healthy foods this time around. Thomas is was meat and potatoes this time it is veggies and fruits mostly.

What We Are Looking Forward To: Holding my baby girl in 1 week!

Weight Gain: 25lbs (This is about 1/2 of what I gained with Thomas).  I have been sooo sick this time that I just havent wanted to eat as much but I am still definitely at a healthy weight gain all my doctors have mentioned how well I have done with that this time.

This is a 37 Weeks pregnant picture and compares to my 33 week pregnant picture! The difference in weight gain 4lbs!

15 Months Old

Because of my C.R.A.Z.Y. December I did not get a 12 Month update.  So now that he is 15 Months I will just update now!

Thomas have been growing and talking and making so many strides it blows my mind every day!

Baseball, Basketball, Football:
As I have said already in another post, one of Thomas' first words was "ball" well he has shown how much he loves any kind of ball game.  He calls baseball and basketball, "ba-ball." He has quite a few "ba-balls" and I sometimes will listen to him ask for it ALL day long!! He will get it then lose it then look for it again. I love that he loves sports! Thomas has a Tee and baseball bat and baseballs.  One of his favorite things to do is to hit the baseballs off this Tee.

Words - His most popular words these days:
People:
- Da-da
- Ma-ma
- GiGi
- Pat-Pat (My youngest brother)
- Opa (My dad - He only says this occasionally)
- Sister (We are still working on Chloe)
Other words:
- ba-ball (Baseball and basketball)
- firetruck
- keys (This is an occasional word)
- Elmo
- Uh-oh
- Bye-Bye
- Baby

These are to just name a few.  He is learning so much everyday!!

Clothes:
12-18 Months - Soon he will be in solid 18M Clothes.

Diapers:
He is in size 3 right now but when we run out he will go up to size 4.

Walking:
He started walking (taking more than 1-2 steps) on January 1.  Just 2.5months later he is practically running.

Personality:
He is a social bug!! He waves at everyone and say Hi and Bye-Bye to everyone.  He is recognizing when we finish phone calls and before we say bye. He chimes in and says it. lol. It is so cute!! =)
He knows what he want even if he cannot communicate exactly what he wants.  He grunts and points.  It is a little frustrating for both of us but his vocabulary will grow.  It does everyday!

Eating:
This child can eat non-stop. He eats pretty much anything we eat.  My parents like to spoil him with cookies and sweets but he doesn't get them much at our house so it is truly a treat for when he goes to GiGi and Opa's house. Vegetables are still hard for me to get him to eat. He will eat pretty much anything pureed but I just don't puree much for him anymore.  Sometimes I can get him to eat peas and corn. He will eat any kind of squash: Butternut Squash, Zucchini, Yellow (Summer) Squash. I don't really care for any kind of squash and neither does Derek so it is hard to understand why he loves them so much but he does, so I make it for him. He also Loves cheese, applesauce and pizza.  These three things are always a hit with him.  He loves the pouches of fruit and vegetables but they are so expensive.  They sell the pouches that you can fill yourself, I am thinking about doing that for him so that he gets more vegetables in him.  We shall see. =) He will most times eat an entire 6-count kids meal at Chick-fil-a.  It is crazy how much this child eats sometimes. And of course, Cheerios and Golfish are always a good snack!

Thomas is 1!!!

I cannot believe my baby boy is 1!! It seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital.  Thomas turned 1 on December 17, 2012.

We did a Fire Truck themed birthday party.

We had a picture of the full table but I am not sure where it is.  I need to track it down.  I make the cake and the cupcakes.  The cake was a Pinterest idea.  Oh how I LOVE Pinterest.

We had a family only Birthday Party.  That was big enough!! It was so much fun and low key since it was family only.

Thomas LOVED the cake.  I had to take it from him before he ate too much and made himself sick.

My Precious Birthday boy with his GiGi

Birthday Presents! He loved opening the presents and playing with each toy he received.

March Already?!?!

Hello Blog World!!

I have had a much needed blog break.  It has not necessarily been on purpose but with all the changes around our house with a new baby coming I have not had time to blog nor have I had a computer to blog.  The hubs has needed it with him at work to study for classes.  So my blogging might be lagging for a while until he is done with school.  I will try to get to it as much as possible to keep everyone updated on our life.  I have quite a few blog posts that need to be added!! 1st Birthday, Christmas, Baby #2 Gender post, etc. That is just to name a few. I will try to play some catch up here and keep everyone up to date! =) For now, here are some pictures of my sweet boy...that is what everyone wants to see anyway!!

New Year!!

Wow! I cannot believe it is already a new year! Happy 2013 everyone.  2012 flew by! I have officially been done working my full-time job for over 1 year. I have raised a child for 1 full year and I am expecting another. What a year 2012 was.  It was a good year but I feel like with a new born I didnt make any goals for myself last year.  I didnt know what to expect. So, even though I dont know exactly what 2013 will hold, I am making some goals for myself! I dont like to use the word "resolution" so they are "goals" for me! :-)

1. Read my Bible every day.  I have already planned myself a reading plan, I just need to hold to it.

2. Read a book a month (this will get hard when the new baby comes but I really want to try). I need to do more reading. Since I finished school this is something I have really slacked on.

3. Walk at least 5x a week! I want to stay fit with this pregnancy.  So far so good but I dont want it to get away from me!

These are just a few goals. I know this year has the possibility to get really busy so I want to go ahead and make these goals so I dont waste what free time I do have!  I want to use all my free time wisely. :-)

Happy New Year!!

ps. Thomas's 1 year post is coming soon! I promise!
